About two and a half months ago, I blogged about my Advanta Business Card and their shitty service. Well, the replacement card I chose was the CitiBusiness Platinum Select.

After having the card now for two months, I can honestly say that IT SUCKS ASS… and not in a good way.

So… here’s the deal. I have been making my payments weeks before the due date to free up funds, due to the fact that the credit limit I received just wasn’t going to cut it. Well, the fuckers have taken a few days to free the funds on my card each time over the past two months. Not good… cause I have to pay my vendors.

Anyway, I called them on it again yesterday. So… after placing me on hold to verify they had received the funds from my recent payment, the bitchy “credit analyst” came back to tell me that my credit limit was now cut in half due to derogatory information from my Experian credit report. WTF?

I have awesome credit, so I new something just wasn’t right. Still, the only insight she could offer was for me to call Experian to get a copy of my credit report.

So… my less-than-happy ass popped over to the Experian site… dowloaded my report… and… my credit was great… not a single negative thing to be found.

Next? Call Citi and bitch them out… but they could not transfer me to the skank that was about to fuck up my credit for no reason. The new “credit analyst” reviewed my credit report and had explanation as to why my credit limit was lowered.

It is pretty shitty that one person has the power to make a big change like this… and not be help accountable.

So… fuck Citi… I’ll be changing cards yet again.

Have you ever had one of those day where nothing went wrong but nothing went right? You know… one of those where you just want to curl up in a ball and suck your thumb.

Well, today was that day.

I can’t explain it, but I just woke up in “a mood”.

It seems it was a premonition of sorts… I received the new report from the IRS auditor.

The numbers are about 30% lower than before. Still… it is more than I could ever afford to pay.

I know that the numbers are still way off, and it will eventually work itself out, but I am so ready for a simple life. Still… my accountant has informed me that when we/if get to the appeals stage, it could drag out for a year or more.

How did I get here?

What ever happened to “live and let live”.

As a resident of Georgia, a U.S. citizen and a gay man that deserves the same rights as everyone else, I am appalled and fucking angry by Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel’s “bring it on” video regarding gay marriage.

I have had my G1 now for a couple of days, and here are a few of my initial thoughts.

I LOVE THIS DEVICE!

It has the touchscreen goodness of the iPhone… but I get to keep the keyboard I grown to love on my Sidekick.

Like the “App Store” on the iPhone, the G1 has the “Market”. There are tons of cool apps… most of them for free.

There is one MAJOR con… it is not with the G1… but with T-Mobile.

Ya’ see… T-Mobile touts on their website…

Make Unlimited Nationwide Calling over Wi-Fi with Unlimited HotSpot Calling

Well… with the G1… not true!

Even though the G1 is fully equipped with wi-fi, T-Mobile still charges you for calls made from the G1 using your wi-fi connection.

WTF?

So now, I am in love with the device, but stuck with the shortcomings of T-Mobile.

UPDATE: I may have jumped the gun with my comment about T-Mobile’s shortcomings.

According to a post I read on T-Mobile Forums…

I hate to tell you, but it’s absolutely 100% not possible to update the G1 to an Unlimited HotSpot Calling (UMA) phone.  It is a hardware issue, not software.  We had this same question arise last year when HTC and T-Mobile released the Wing.  It is a piece of hardware that allows the phone to connect to WiFi for calling purposes.  The G1 is only built to connect to WiFi for data purposes.

Trees Plus Ltd (Atlanta) responded to the review I wrote.

Here’s what they had to say…

We are extremely sorry about missing this appointment. It was a complete oversight on our part. We have been extremely busy with all the storms as of late and are short one arborist. We should have called.

I am glad that they realize their shortcomings, and the arborist called on Monday to apologize. Still, I am done with them… I will find another company.

A No Show… Twice!

I received a flyer posted to my mailbox from this company. After booking an appointment over a week out, as they were a bit swamped, I was anxious to get rid of some small trees and branches of larger trees looming over my house.

So… the appointment was set in a two hour window (between 1-3). Well… at 3:02, I received a call that he would not be able to make it and wanted to reschedule for the next morning. Fine… we were now set for 7:30.

Well, that was yesterday. I was up bright and early at 7:00. What did I get? Nothing. No show. No phone call. No excuse.

I feel like I have channeled my inner Joan Crawford/Faye Dunaway a la Mommie Dearest.
