Tuning Out

Facebook… MySpace… Twitter… oh my!

Do I really want to be that connected?

No.

So, there will be no more updates… no more microblogging. If I feel the need to say something, I’ll post it here. [BTW... if you're reading this on Facebook, it is because I have an application installed that pulls from here.]

Why have I decided to “tune out”?me and Mark having a drink

I feel that many of the “friends” listed on my Facebook and MySpace are acquaintances… at best. Calling these acquaintaces “friends” is a disservice to those people that are my true friends.

I feel closer to the handful of people that comment on my blog than 90% of the “friends” listed on those “social networking” sites. So, fellow bloggers… keep the comments coming. :)

So, Facebook/MySpace/Twitter clan… if you want to know what is going on with me… well, you’ll have to ask. Feel free to call, text or email me.

If you feel that we are acquaintances and would like to become friends… I am here.

To my friends reading this… thank you for being my friend.

True happiness consists not in the multitude of friends, but in their worth and choice.

Was It Something I Said?

Why do I blog?

To free my mind… to share with others… to maintain some shred of being social.

Still, I have to admit that I find it gratifying to know that other people have read (or at least looked at) something I posted.

So… yesterday there was a spike in the number of  “page views”. Take a look…

Early Closing Time

After spending too much time in mom’s bar yesterday and drinking WAY too much, I have decided to stay upstairs tonight.

I tried to stay and chat with the locals, but I find it difficult to be around drunk people if I am not drinking.

They are still getting the place going, but it is coming along nicely. Here’s a pic of the bar…

Getting Out and Meeting People

Meeting people is something that has never been easy for me.

In a business environment or business event, I can always “put my best face forward”. I think it because at those times margaritait is work… and I’m not really being me. Am I?

Well, tonight I went to a housewarming party of a college buddy, D. It had been over 12 years since I had seen him. (Damn… I’m getting old.)

I met some nice people… had a few fruity margaritas… munched on some hors d’oeuvres.

So… what’s next?
