Transplating From AeroGarden to Soil

If my experience is indicative of the norm, then I would say… don’t do it!

As you can see below, my cucumber failed…

This pic is now a week old and the cumcumber is completely dead.

The tomato I transplanted is holding on for dear life. *fingers crossed*

Veggie, Veggie, Dirt, Dirt

I decided to transplant my tomato, cucumber and pea plants from the AeroGarden to outside soil. I am fairly certain that we have had our last frost.

Also… I wanted to make room for new plants.

Here are the pics…

I took some new pics of the progress of my seedlings in the AeroGarden.

Everyone is doing great.

Here’s the tomatoes at week three…

Tomatoes, Cucumbers and Peas… Oh My!

It has been two weeks now since I planted the three tomato seeds in the AeroGarden. All three were thriving. Still, it was time to snuff out two of the seedlings, in order for my crop to flourish.

So, now I am down to one baby tomato seedling. Here he is at 15 days…

I also have cucumber and pea seedlings that are now at one week. Here they are…

Cucumber

Pea

I am amazed out how quickly the cucumber has grown.

I added a second cucumber seed to the AeroGarden to see if it grows as quickly.

Growing Tomatoes in My AeroGarden – Week One

On the 14th, I planted three tomato seeds in my AeroGarden. Instead of using one of their seed kits, I planted the seeds directly into one of the grow sponges. After only one week, here is the outcome.

All three seeds have sprouted!

I took these pictures on Saturday, 3/21. Pretty impressive, eh?

At this point, I was growing using the tomato light setting. I changed over to the 24-hour light setting on Friday, 3/20.

I have also planted peas, bell peppers, cucumbers and herbs. I will post their progress soon.
