I remember seeing the trailer for 1408 when it was released a couple of years ago. It looked spooky, but not worth a trip to the movies.
I watched it last night, and it was, well… good… but average. Still, worthy of adding to your Netflix queue.

I have begun to remove the paint from the cabinets and have found that it normally takes three applications of stripper, followed by sanding to get the wood in tip-top shape.
I’m sure I could squeeze by doing a lot less work. Still, I want it to do my best, and… I am enjoying myself.

Veteran Republican Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania switched parties Tuesday with a suddenness that seemed to stun the Senate, a moderate’s defection that pushed Democrats to within a vote of the 60 needed to overcome filibusters and enact President Barack Obama’s top legislative priorities.
Specter, 79 and seeking a sixth term in 2010, conceded bluntly that his chances of winning a Pennsylvania Republican primary next year were bleak in a party grown increasingly conservative. But he cast his decision as one of principle, rather than fueled by political ambition as spurned GOP leaders alleged.
“I have found myself increasingly at odds with the Republican philosophy and more in line with the philosophy of the Democratic Party,” he said at a news conference. He added, “I am not prepared to have my 29 year record in the United States Senate decided by the Pennsylvania Republican primary electorate.”

Redoing the kitchen was something the ex and I had discussed on a few occassions.
Why didn’t it ever happen? Well, I guess I didn’t want to cough up the $5,000+ he wanted to spend.
Well… I have decided to tackle it myself. Maybe not on as large of a scale as the ex wanted, but I am doing this MY way.
So… if I purchased new cabinets it would cost about three grand… not including installation. Plus… I would be creating a lot of waste, which does not jive with minimizing/simplifying life.

I am going to revamp the cabinets with new paint and door pulls (at least to start with).

The BF will be heading back to Amsterdam in two weeks.
My mood? Anxious… ready for it… counting the days?
This may sound a bit mean, but as each day passes… I am learning just how much we are not meant to be together.
He is childish, insensitive and, at times, a cruel person.
Will I miss him when he is gone? Maybe.
For now… I am looking forward to May 6.
