Dusting Off Wii Fit

Over the past year, I have only used Wii Fit a handful of times.

At the nagging urging of the BF, I dusted it out and showed him the basics.

He LOVES it.

His favorite seems to be the step exercises.

He was on the thing for over an hour and plans on doing it every day.

KUDOS to him.

Drama-Free Potato Salad

A week or so ago, I wrote about the potato salad I planned on making.

I am happy to report that it turned out great and the BF even tried it.

Progress? Maybe.

Will it last? Doubtful.

Tomatoes, Cucumbers and Peas… Oh My!

It has been two weeks now since I planted the three tomato seeds in the AeroGarden. All three were thriving. Still, it was time to snuff out two of the seedlings, in order for my crop to flourish.

So, now I am down to one baby tomato seedling. Here he is at 15 days…

I also have cucumber and pea seedlings that are now at one week. Here they are…

Cucumber

Pea

I am amazed out how quickly the cucumber has grown.

I added a second cucumber seed to the AeroGarden to see if it grows as quickly.

Late Afternoon Meeting: IRS Bullshit

piles of paperLater today I have a meeting with S and H to go over next week’s meeting with the IRS. I feel very fortunate to have them on my side.

I am hopeful that today’s meeting will be good news and that I will not need to attend next week.

*fingers crossed*

I keep telling myself that I will emerge from this bullshit a stronger, wiser person. At this point, I can’t say that with 100% confidence.

One thing I have learned is how much I despise paper. I am making every effort to either receive all bills/invoices in an electronic format or scan them into NeatReceipts.

Growing Tomatoes in My AeroGarden – Week One

On the 14th, I planted three tomato seeds in my AeroGarden. Instead of using one of their seed kits, I planted the seeds directly into one of the grow sponges. After only one week, here is the outcome.

All three seeds have sprouted!

I took these pictures on Saturday, 3/21. Pretty impressive, eh?

At this point, I was growing using the tomato light setting. I changed over to the 24-hour light setting on Friday, 3/20.

I have also planted peas, bell peppers, cucumbers and herbs. I will post their progress soon.

F.R.O.G.S. and Naked Men

The BF and I visited F.R.O.G.S. Cantina in Midtown on Saturday after spending a relaxing day in Piedmont Park.

I had never been to this restaurant/bar, but after witnessing the ineptitude of the sandwich-making queen at Jersey Mike’s, I was compelled to forge for something else.

Although the menu was limited, both the chimichanga (my choice) and the jerk chicken sandwich were great.Atlanta rugby players

On a trip to the restroom, I found a poster for the Atlanta Rugby Football Club. Who knew that Atlanta has a gay rugby team?

Well, it turns out that some members of the rugby team were having some drinks on the patio, and midway through our meal I was treated to an eyeful when two of the rugby players came running past our table dripping wet and NAKED.

I am assuming that this was the result of some alcohol-induced game from the patio.

I think I will sit on the patio next time.

Dalai Lama Denied Entry for Peace Conference

Dalai LamaSouth Africa has refused the Dalai Lama a visa to attend an international peace conference in Johannesburg this week, a presidential spokesman said.

The Tibetan spiritual leader and Nobel Laureate did not receive a visa because it was not in South Africa’s interest for him to attend, said Thabo Masebe.

South Africa thinks that, if the Dalai Lama attended the conference, the focus would shift away from the 2010 World Cup — the global soccer championship it will host next year.
